Wasa for the Pawan Wind Project
Our commitment
THE PAWAN WIND PROJECT IN INDIA
In 2022, fossil fuels will account for 77% of India's electrical output. Coal accounted for 74% of the total, followed by gas (2.7%), and other fossil
(0.1%). The country's emissions are driven by its heavy reliance on fossil fuels and massive population. India has overtaken China as the world's most populated country in 2023. India's need for power would expand in tandem with the country's rapid economic expansion. Meeting it with renewable electricity would entail rapidly and massively expanding clean sources.
The planned project activity entails installing Wind and Power Projects in multiple states of India. The project activity's goal is to generate clean electricity, as this state has traditionally been reliant on fossil fuelgenerated electricity. The project plays a vital part in India’s shift towards a low-carbon economy by generating electricity from a renewable resource and supplying it to the state grid which contributes to the replacement of coal part in the Indian energy mix.
Rio Floresta D'Oeste
The Rio Floresta D'oeste project saves approximately 28,000 tons of CO2eq emissions each year, as the clean electricity provided by the project contributes to lowering the carbon intensity of the country's electric mix.
